Show Notes: "Adam, Andrew, Alex Vinnie and I jumped off the train, followed the crowd as we didn't really know the way to the Academy; this was a real rough place in London, and a couple of years back, it was totally rebuilt after these real bad riots. Anyway, we turned the corner, and found a real huge line, although it only took about ten minutes to get in. Whilst waiting in the queue, tens of ticket touts tramped around buying and selling tickets. Vinnie and I found this stash of beer, it was some touts, and we downed it quik. Inside, security were taking everything:wallets, chains, rings, necklaces, loads of crap. We walked to the end of the hall, where i bought a nimrod t-shirt (the one with the funny little bloke with a hammer), and one of those short sleeved shirts. We were then separated, as Adam and I bought our tickets late, but those got to go into the mosh pit (wankers). Adam and I found some seats next to some fit babes, and sat back, and waited for D-Generation
to come on. Then these real old guys came on, and one started playing on the bass; he was really old and fat, and we all thought that was the band. But we were releaved when they actually came on. The fat guy must have been a tuner or something. When they came on, we were all kinda excited, and downstairs, some people were pogoing, but D-Generation weren't really too entertaining. They left after about seven or eight songs. Then the Green Day banner came down, and the crowd went mad. Five minutes later, the lights started to flash, and Tre came on stage and did that little balancing stance on top of an amp. Mike and Billie followed shortly, and the crowd erupted. He opened with, erm, I can't remember, but the mosh pit went carzy. This guy called luke came up for knowledge, and he
was fucking great. He played back toback with mike, and like even did this cool little solo. At the end of the song, Billy told him to stand in this spot, and then started to chant jump,jump,jump, and after about five seconds, the guy dived into the crowd. In between quite a few songs, Billy sprayed the fans with water, but
mike did nothing. After the grouch, tre stood on an amp, and did the balance angel thing again. When they played when i come around, upstairs, everyone erupted. We weren't allowed to stand up there, but everyone did, and the stewards couldn't do shit. heh heh. Mike and tre smashed up the drums, and knocked over some other stuff, awhilst billie lay on the ground, with this real harsh feedback reverberating from left to right. Then he played Good riddance, and that was it. Afterwards, all these girls were crying, coz they coudn't find their shoes in the mosh pit, but we raided the store, and stole a box of ice-cream, which was petty, but fun."
